An Allergen-Friendly Valentine’s Day Treat Everyone Can Enjoy

Valentine’s Day treats are fun until you’re navigating classroom rules, food allergies, and artificial dye overload. This recipe is inspired by my sister who is a third grade teacher and has to navigate a myriad of her students' allergies.
If you’re looking for a festive, allergen-conscious Valentine’s treat that works for the office or a kids’ school celebration, this one checks all the boxes.
These Chocolate-Covered Pretzels with Freeze-Dried Berries are:
Gluten-free
Dairy-free
Free of artificial dyes
Easy to make
Cute enough to feel special
Best of all, they use just a few simple ingredients and come together in minutes.

This recipe is made with Gluten-Free Pretzels and Dairy-Free White Chocolate, making it a great option for those avoiding gluten and dairy. Instead of artificial food coloring, it gets its Valentine’s flair from natural coloring and freeze-dried fruit, which adds color and flavor.

These Valentine pretzels are proof that festive treats don’t need artificial dyes or complicated ingredients to feel special. They’re crunchy, creamy, naturally colorful, and thoughtfully made — perfect for sharing love without excluding anyone.

Whether you’re making them for a classroom party, coworkers, or your own family, I hope that this recipe serves it's purpose of being easy, quick, and allergen friendly.

Variation
Try using dark or milk chocolate if you prefer a different flavor profile.
Notes

1
Crush your strawberries - whatever method you see fit. I put them in a gallon ziploc bag, got rid of the air inside, and rolled over it two or three times with a rolling pin. You could also pulse it a few times in the food processor for more of a dusty texture.

2
Melt the white chocolate chips on the stovetop, stirring every 20 seconds, until smooth and creamy.

3
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to place the dipped pretzels.

4
Dip each gluten-free pretzel into the melted white chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip off.

5
Immediately place the dipped pretzel into the crushed freeze-dried strawberries while the chocolate is still wet.

6
Place the pretzels on the prepared baking sheet and allow them to set. You can refrigerate them for 5-10 minutes to harden faster.

7
Once the chocolate has set, serve the pretzels on a platter or store them in an airtight container until ready to serve.
Instructions
1 cup white chocolate chips
